– The mysterious disease is said to eat away private parts
– Surveillance to establish the truth behind the Jakadala disease has ruled out its existence
– The symptoms include small swellings on private parts which then rapture to discharge very smelly pus
Migori county government has given report on the mysterious Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) christened Jakadala by the locals.
County executive in charge of health Isca Oluoch on Wednesday, December 19, dismissed media reports on existence and outbreak of the deadly infectious disease as malicious deception.
While appealing to locals to observe calm, Oluoch revealed a taskforce which had been instituted to look into the matter found no epidemic of such disease which is causing panic in Migori county.
Consequently, the county cannot therefore substantiate the claims as earlier reported by local media houses.
It had been alleged Jakadala cases have been reported in Suna, Nyatike, Nyarombo gold mines and Komito mines in Rongo sub-county.
The symptoms include small swellings on private parts which then rapture to discharge very smelly pus.
